Our Rockstar Training project would not be possible without the following heros who have undertaken significant effort to mentor other climbers with much generosity and kindness. They inspire other climbers to become Rockstars and make our climbing community a mutual-support circle to support each other to reach their best possible potential in both climbing, safety and any possible personal development processes through climbing.
I started climbing in Italy when I was 15 and it’s been my life ever since. I’ve climbed in different parts of the world and have met the most amazing people through climbing. I want to pass on the guidance and technique that people have shown me.
Artem lives for two things; science and climbing. When he’s not messing around with genes he’s messing up his jeans climbing. While he has been focusing on traditional climbing he’s no stranger to boulders or sport crags and regulars Vancouver climbing gyms. His love for climbing is contagious and he’s excited to share his love and experience for the vertical world with anyone interested in learning.
Danny loves to climb, whether its outside in Squamish, or hosting climbing nights in the gyms. He currently volunteers for Climb & Conquer’s 1 on 1 Mentorship program which pairs a youth climber to a mentor in order to get coaching on his/her climbing through positive feedback and training. He’s been focused on Bouldering for the past year and a half which has resulted in a bouldering grade of V10 in Squamish.
“I’ve been lucky enough to climb throughout parts of Canada, The US and Central America. Climbing has brought some really great things into my life: from traveling to friendship and adventure. I really enjoy sharing these experiences with other people.”
Ivan (15 years old) likes climbing and helping other people. His passion is in both indoor climbing competitions and outdoor rock climbing. He currently ranks second in his age group in Canada. He climbs at the Hive Bouldering Gym regularly.
Ivan says:”I want to be a mentor because I want to teach all the new climbers to become a good climber and help them getting more interest into climbing!”
Joe likes climbing rock, snow, ice and alpine. He’s also an avid volunteer in the community. He loves dim sum, bubble tea, butter chicken, prime rib and many other food. He’s also the current Smoothie King in Vancouver after competing and dominating at the Green’s smoothie competition a few years ago.
Jonas loves climbing, hiking, and all sort of outdoor adventures. He has been dedicated to climbing for the last three years. His positive attitude and easy-going personality makes him a great partner to climb with. Climbing has fostered his personal growth and he wants to inspire climbers who are just starting out! Sport climbing is his thing but you’ll also find him climbing big walls and boulders.
