Mike is a Life Skills Coordinator for the Rights of Passage program at Covenant House which provides youth with six months to two years of safe, affordable housing and support while they transition to independent living.
This past week, myself and two youth had the chance to visit The Hive gym and have a fantastic evening of fear conquering, adrenaline pumping climbing. We were lucky enough to have the support of some amazing volunteers from Climb and Conquerwho showed us a great time. The volunteers taught us some pretty awesome climbing moves and within in no time we were up on the wall taking on routes we didn’t think we’d be able to do. The encouragement and support from volunteers was great.
The ROP youth were so keen on climbing that all we talked about on the way home was how awesome our evening was. They can’t wait to get back into the HiVE and do it all over again!
